TAK Training Knives Features
• Realistic Shape and Length: Browse through the models until you locate the knives which closest match your carry blades. It is critical to practice with a true training knife which is as close as possible in shape and length as your normal carry blade. Only then can your grip, reverse grip, and target range be fine tuned. We see too many people practice with large or odd shaped training knives which bear no resemblance to what's in their pocket or attached to their belt.
Our Training Knives come in a wide variety of popular shapes and lengths. Our training knives are similar in overall shape, blade style, and length as today's popular knives.
• Reduced Pain: The actual striking pressure you feel from a TAK Training Knife is only ¼ of an aluminum blade! An important part of all knife training is practicing with a partner. It's hard to keep training buddies if they walk away bruised from sparring. Typical aluminum training blades are heavy (in some cases, heavier than live blades) and have narrow striking edges. Once you use our Training Knife, you'll rarely go back to your old style blades. The TAK Training Knife produces less pain due to its wide striking surface and reduced pressure that results on the edge. What does this mean? LESS PAIN !
• Visual Tracking: The TAK Training Knife allows visual tracking of the blade which leads to more precise training. None of us stare at their opponent's knife during training (if you do- you shouldn't), however, it is critical to detect the blade during realistic training. Our Training Knife has a unique frosted finish to the blade which allows ambient room or outdoor light to absorb and return off of the blade allowing you to 'catch' its movement and position.
• Efficient and Less Dangerous: TAK Training Knives can be used with a removable and adjustable Wrist Lanyard. If you train, you will drop your training blade. It may be from doing disarm drills; it may be from training realistically. Either way, wouldn't it be nice not to constantly bend over or chase your knife. We've all seen people hit and mirrors broken from flying training weapons. Once you use the TAK Lanyard, you won't believe how much more efficient and less dangerous your training becomes. Many schools have made TAK Training Knives mandatory equipment for the lanyard feature alone. Note: Lanyards must be ordered separately.
