So . . . how does a typical training class go? You start with some some flow drills, maybe in the air or on a pell. Then, with a partner, you start checking, passing, blocking, etc. Once you've got the idea down, you start to pick up the pace a little. This is the point where you crack your opponent's wrist or hand with your aluminum trainer and switch to your TAK Training Knife. Now you can go harder and faster, still have a rigid blade, still feel the smack of the blade- but you're not chipping bone and loosing friends.
Finally, the last 15 minutes of class, the instructor says 'Let's do full speed sparring". Now what . . . if you have a full body armor suit, you can still use your rigid trainer. But normally you don't. This is the point where you switch to padded weapons. The problem is, they are normally not knives. You end up smacking each other with foam noodles that have round handles. Edge awareness- forget it!
Well, the solution is here! The Bogner Training Blades have been around for years but hard to find. You probably know someone who has said "I saw these great flexible trainers one time but don't know who made them". Well, we found him and have teamed up to bring his impact training knives to you. Darren Bogner has made improvements to several of the training blades over time and we have the new, improved versions. Each trainer has unique features; read more in each description below. Enjoy !
